What we store, and why.

Azimuth necessarily holds some of the most sensitive information you have: disability ratings, service records, and treatment history. This page says plainly what we store, how it's protected, and what we will never do with it.

What we store

  • Your account email and a securely hashed password — never the password itself.
  • Military background (branch, MOS, service dates, discharge character), education and employment history, and the disability conditions and ratings you enter.
  • Documents you upload — DD-214s, rating decisions, VA forms — and the text extracted from them.
  • Your current VR&E stage and progress through Azimuth.

How your documents are protected

  • Uploaded files are encrypted before they're stored.
  • An uploaded document is never edited or overwritten. A correction or re-upload creates a new version; the original you gave us is always retained exactly as issued.
  • Every time one of your source documents is viewed, we log who viewed it and when.

What we send to AI models — and what we never send

  • Your raw documents are parsed on our own server and never sent to a third-party model.
  • Where a model helps draft narrative language, only text with your name, file number, address, and date of birth removed is ever sent — and only to write prose, never to originate a number.
  • Wages, job outlooks, and education requirements always come from O*NET and the Bureau of Labor Statistics, never from an AI model.

What we don't do

  • We never sell your data.
  • We never submit anything to the VA on your behalf.
  • We never share your records with your counselor, an employer, or anyone else — you decide when to hand over your package, and to whom.

Your choices

You can ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to delete your account and everything in it, at any time through Refinery Consulting.
